The
ACEER Foundation supports its education and research
programs in the Amazon with classrooms, field labs,
canopy access systems, demonstration gardens, interpreted
trails, and nature interpretation centers for researchers,
students and others.
The ACEER Foundation is providing funding for the design,
construction, and operation of two new Canopy Walkways in
the Peruvian Amazon. The first, in partnership with
the Amazon Conservation Association, will be the largest
canopy walkway in the world and the first ever in the highland
Amazonian Cloudforest. It will employ a state-of-the-art
non-tree attached technology and have classrooms and laboratories
located in towers within the cloudforest canopy. Located
at Wayqechas, Peru, the gateway to Manu Biosphere Reserve,
it will be a major educational research resource for visitors
to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. ACEER will also
build and operate a Nature Interpretation and Visitors Center
associated with the walkway.
