Customized Workshops

ACEER-Inkaterra-Tambopata and ACEER-Los Amigos
Customized University Workshops or Pre-arranged ACEER Workshops

The ACEER operates two educational facilities in the Peruvian Amazon that are available for university workshops, school groups, and professional organizations. ACEER staff will work closely with faculty to create customized workshops that tie in with their curriculum and emphasize hands-on field experience. Most customized workshops are run for 1 to 3 weeks. Semester-long experiences can also be arranged.

ACEER-Tambopata-Inkaterra (ATI) is a 5500 square foot Education and Research Center created with full funding from the National Geographic Society. It houses nature interpretation exhibits, a classroom, offices, meeting rooms, and overnight accommodations for 16. It is located on a 340 hectare private reserve along the Madre de Dios River that includes ethnobotanical gardens, interpreted trails, and diverse rainforest habitats, as well as a nearby Canopy Walkway.

ACEER-Los Amigos is our new education and research center, created in partnership with the Amazon Conservation Association and with full funding from the National Geographic Society. The site is adjacent to the Los Amigos Conservation Concession, approximately 4 hours travel time upriver from Puerto Maldonado, Peru. The Los Amigos watershed is remote, pristine wilderness that acts as a biological corridor connecting Manu National Park and the Tambopata Reserved Zone. CICRA, an existing research center created by ACA, lies at the very heart of the largest expanse of virgin rainforest in the world. This will complement the new ACEER facility that includes overnight accommodations for 23, a classroom, laboratory, and an ethnobotanical garden.
